It’s been years since I wanted to get my hands on that awesome gaming console. I’m loving it and am more than happy about it. Netflix on that is just the cherry on the cake (or something like that) …

Its been over a month here now, total of about four months of my US experience. This time, I’m here for some significant time. So far, I’ve managed to get myself a nice place to stay with descent rent and low commute time. All equipments required to maintain online communications are well in place.

funniest part so far is that I’ve started cooking some stuff at home.

For last 23 years, I had absolute no need to cook any food for myself. For one, my mother and grandmother cook awesome and healthy food and two, they are always in kitchen… its their empire, their rules. Whenever i tried to cook back home, if at all, i always managed to mess something up, further diminishing my interest in cooking food for myself.

I cant just yet say that I’m loving it, but so far, the produce I’ve managed to obtain from my cooking did not taste bad. It was not spicy, interesting, awesome taste. but for sure, it did not taste bad. This result is good enough to keep my faith in myself and improve in this area. Till that happens, whenever I cook, I’m simply playing safe by taking digestive medicine before hitting the bed.

Few initial days, when I had no TV and no Internet, were pretty boring and lonely.  X-mas was good time for me to hunt for the house and get settled. With the help of some friends here, I was able to get up and running with my basic needs !

Thats about it.

PlayStation is fun, netflix is awesome, my daal doesnt taste bad, I like southpark and I hate rains !!!

I still have files on yahoo briefcase… very very valuable, but only to me… I am not talking about the contents of the file… yes, the files did cost me a lot, but I am not talking about that either. This is a different kind of value, which all of us appreciate. The value which is directly related to the object, the person and the time.. want examples ??? of course… Remember your old jeans? Remember your photos back from school days??  VALUABLE indeed ……

Sweet old memories I have in those uploaded bytes. The days of Gaming, Days of Age of Empires, Half-Life, Diablo II and Counter Strike… The days of my so called college, which I hardly ever bothered to attend… The days when the day used to dawn with the game and set with another… the memories of those addictive days crawl through my mind, unleashing torrents of energies, taking me into a trance, i see ….hoards of paladins raging through fields, rams attacking thick stone walls, Siege weapons hurling stones at distant enemy towers…. Somewhere deep beneath the town, we fight the legions of demons, just so we could reach to the portal which leads us to another realm…. GoGoGo… Strom the Front… Affirmative…….. Killing Spreee…. Double Kill…. Triple Kill……  …..GODLIKE!!!  Oh my GOD they’re so many names… WoW, DotA, Ragnarok, Warcraft III, Renegade, Commandos , CnC Generals, Red Alert II, GTA II, GTA Vice City, Quake III Arena, Day of Defeat, Unreal Tournament …  The awesomeness…..

I used to upload my savegame files over Yahoo Briefcase often… Just so that I could resume the game back home or in some other cyber cafe… I had plenty of Age of Empire custom maps, downloaded from several websites, stored in my briefcase, so that we wont need to find them again… Very addictive years they were… nothing else really mattered.. bunking college for days, spending those hours in cyber cafes playing multiplayer games with other kids, doing exactly the same with their colleges and their time was all that we used to do. Their real names never mattered, we hardly knew any real names of our fellow gamers… only nicknames like Nightmare, Casino, Shadow Warrior, Samrat, Pappupager, Cracker, A1, Chilli and so on… I still stick to my nickname “JaguarNac”…. I believe it’s something like gamer’s code that you do not ask a fellow gamer his real name until he exposes it by himself… or his parents come to the cafe yelling his name for bunking the college

Fun times indeed.

Saturday afternoon sleep was followed by Office Aniversary Party and Dinner at IndSearch IndFest 2008, which happens to be the get-together of indsearch. Dance performances there were a treat. Being stuffed at office party earlier, dinner didn’t feel much attractive. Activa rides to and from the venue was indeed a pleasure. Due to sudden chill wave gripping Pune, the temprature was somewhere around seven degrees. Riding a two wheeler in this temprature does add some bonus to it’s original pleasure and some more if you are not wearing anything that can keep you “Warm”.

Gaming session at Diamond declared the start of Sunday. I can still get a few heads in counterstrike. Feels good !!. Had hot coffee in afternoon with friends group from school. Entire evening afterwords was at a friend’s Birthday Party !!

It was FUN!! Lots and lots of fun.

This entire week was surprisingly fun though it did not involve much “fun” from the electromagnetic devices. I played Cricket, had lunch and dinner with friends, saw Tare Zameen Par, Enjoyed Office Aniversary and celebrated every possible event. This is not what I find myself doing every often, BUT, it’s good. Very Very Good !!!

 

Meanwhile, I’m somehow developing an addiction towards Sudoku on Cellphone. Am still to evaluate if it’s good or bad… let’s see !!!

Now.. why do i NOT use my ALTERNATE number then??? well… that number is also disabled thanks to the “non-verified” address followed by my utter laziness to submit the documents at some local office. Nevermind… laziness is FUNN !!! saves u from a lot of work !!!

On occasions, I’d put myself off the network on weekends to steal a sweet cake of dreamless afternoon sleep but two days is the maximum feasible duration for staying out of the world’s immediate reach. It starts to get boring. Even if chosen to stay disconnected, I can easily change my mind anytime during the weekend, switch the phone on and start annoying any “contact”. Current compulsive disconnection is more like a punishment given to me by elder gamegods for navigating away from routine worship.

Weekend so far was funn though… Began on Friday night with “National Treasure : Book of Secrets” which was an AWSOME movie. Just as fast and interesting as the first one. Fast, Fun, Chase, Fun, Caves and Treasure with Action used as punctuations. I liked the National Treasure Villains in both the movies though. They don’t much believe in intellectual redundancy. Gates does all the thinking and bad guys just grab a hostage and meet him at the treasure entrances. Movie is once again “FUNN!!!” go see it “NOW”!!

Saturday gave good worship points from “DotA” and “World of Warcraft”. It’s a HOLY experience to munch on potato chips along with games. In the cafe, I surprisingly met two of the cafe “alumni” after somewhat like three years. Felt good .

After a few hours, when I had to take my PC to a friend’s cafe to see what’s wrong, I realized that I actually cleaned the things WAY TOO DEEP and WAY TOO MUCH. During the “Cleanup”, i unbolted every possible screw and sepereted every possible element of the CPU. FAN, MOBO, all the cards, Hard Drives, CD-RW, all wires, SMPS and all things in cabinet… all was taken out, blown clean and placed back. During this, I even opened the SMPS box and cleaned it from within… Which, lateron caused my machine to give nice musical beeps and shut itself down. (This scares the HELL out of you)…

After trying to solve the “Beep” problem with a few known and traditionally followed methods, I made some worried phonecalls to my “contacts” who DEFINITELY know the “hard” part quite well. Later that afternoon, I even took the machine to my friend’s Gaming Zone and took benifit of his experties. Till the evening, it was clear that I had cleaned the thing WAY TOO MUCH and there was nothing wrong in the system except probably the SMPS.

The next day I called up the guys from whom i purchased the machine an year ago. They came, took my machine away, fixed the SMPS thingy and brought the system back to me on the very first day of the new year 2008 making me really happy on the very first day of the year.

Now, the PC is Clean (thorroughly) and is ready to enjoy the new year ~~~.

Though the things are decently under control, my throat is terribly irritating me and making me to pull it away and throw into the abyss… This winter was initially very cold… they (science people) said that the carbon-di-oxide which we let into the air did some evil things which made Pune air drop to seven degrees celcius.

I’d stand around 12 degrees Air-conditioned gaming for hours…  but seven degrees for a couple of nights is just too cold… that too without gaming and (outdated) woolen ware.

things are getting better now, both with me throat and with the Pune air.

now i can peacefully sleep in around 14 degrees celcius.

my B.Com final year exams are [almost] over!!!
five papers done… one to go.
So far, teh situation is quite ”good”.
I never expected my B.Com exam to result ”Excellent”
or ”UberPwntage”(the 1337357 form of uber ownage…)
I’m not a guy with superhuman memory and one (1) year’s syllabus
is kinda hard to cover within a day.
So, the “good” conditions will do for now…… (till June….. results …… fear them……..)

So, i’ll be dealing with Marketing Management III tomorrow 11:00 AM
with an aim to get over with it before 2.00 PM

Rest of the day will be spent doing funfunthingsfulofjoyandhappiness.  like
