The movie is about a dog named Romeo who becomes a street dog after being abandoned by his owners. Soon, he gets a gang starts a small business (?) and falls in love with a dancer dog Laila. Eventually he messes up with a dog don CharlieAnna who also happens to be lover of Laila. At a point, story brings in a van of dogcatchers and takes a turn.

There are fee things worth watching in the movie. CharlieAnna, his bodyguards whom he calls “Charlie’s Angels”, a cat who thinks she’s a dog and some cool animated dog dances.

Most of all, the one thing that kept my smile all accross the movie and probably the first reason why I personally liked the movie was all the cute neatly animated characters were very very furrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyy !!!!!

Google rates it “half star”, we who saw think it’s overrated.

This time….. It get’s nasty.

John Hancock (Will Smith) is a superhero with no secret identity, no secret hideout and no shiny cloths. He’s a drug against crime with worse side-effects. Driven by Alcohol, Anger and Attitude Hancock flies around the city saving lives and leaving a trail of destruction behind himself. Nobody likes him and he doesn’t care. He’s a superhero that you wouldn’t want to be…

but…

Things change…   Hancock saves a Public Relations guy Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman) from getting killed by the train, who in turn helps Hancock claim his honor in public.

This was just a trailer. You’ve seen them. The trailers were playing around on YouTube, Movie Theaters and Televisions. Building up the excitement before the release. Now… Does Hancock fulfil what we expected from it?

Not really…

It starts off well with a bad superhero, drunk, doing things that a superhero is supposed to do. Fast & Entertaining so far… till he meets Ray, the PR guy. Public and Law in the city is really pissed off with Hancock and want’s him imprisoned. Ray asks Hancock to comply. Trusting Ray, Hancock accepts the advice and surrenders himself to the police.

As he goes in… he starts to change… bit-by-bit… The crime rate in city however, goes up by significant 30 percent !!!
Eventually, Cops release Hancock under "good behavior" and ask for his assistance in tight situation involving  bank robbing bad guys with remote detonative bombs tied tight to hostages. He helps and and all goes good.

Meanwhile, he meets Ray’s wife Mary ( Charlize Theron ) and things change… The movie takes completely unusual and unexpected turn. Story starts to become weird and confusing towards the end. Too many things happen in very short time span, including a somewhat fierce fight with sudden hurricanes revolving around.

Movie ends with a scene typically that may ideally fit AS IS in some Hindi Superhero Movie, thus, better unspoken.

On the scale of 10, Hancock stands somewhere around 6.
Story is okay, Will Smith is good, Charlize Theron is cute and the movie is different than the usual. one-time-see.

You may feel that this unusual liking towards this movie is more because many other people did not like it. It may happen. Is it really the case though? I don’t thinXo !!

Yes I’ve watched it twice. Both time with different friends. I admit it doesn’t make much sense as a movie (hardly a few fall in the category of movies which made “sense” others are censored…). Fighting was crappy and story was sarcastically awesome. However, the film did have a few nice points to talk about.

I liked the appearances of all actors, Anil Kapoor, Saif, Akshay Kumar and Kareena. I liked all the songs from this movie (including and not limited to the background “Bacchan Bacchan Paande….. ” music) I liked to see Kareena as Blond in Dil Dance Maare song and I also liked the song.

In all, as per my belief, the movie is average and it’s an exception that i liked it more than imagined, but I still believe that it is not anywhere near when it’s compared to No Smoking !

Evening was SPLENDID and worth remembering for many more years…

So happened that I was wandering around the city thinking about any freely available resource who could join me and dine out with me. All of a sudden I got a call from my college friend who wanted some help on Excel functions for reappearance for last internals. She had failed to attend last examinations due to some severe sickness. Coincidentally, she, with two more friends from college, happened to be at “Nisarga”, a famous sea-food special restaurant at Nal-Stop Pune. Being hungry and already on lookout for foodmunch companions, I accepted the joining invitation with no hesitations…

I’m not sure about the chicken, but I surely did feel good as it went down to my tiny tummy to become a part of my metabolic activities soon thereafter. Preceding starters and succeeding rice ensured that I leave the place with immense satisfaction and just enough room for an IceCream !! Butterscotch is good. It feels good, it tastes good, it’s fun !!!

Four of us enjoyed our ice creams while talking about relatively scary movies like Grudge, Raat etc…
Later, I waved the girls goodnight and turned to “Chaitanya”, F.C. Road, Pune, where another group of college friends was already enjoying the Parathas. The group had just cancelled a plan for Movie (26th july at Barista or something). I dont remember a single dull moment till night after that. We were doing crazy things like mocktailing Mazaa with sprite, playing the “toing” ringtone repeatedly while laughing out loud and ultimately, waiting for the Mastani which we didnt order…

It was somewhat around 12:30 when we called it a night and went to chleeps.

Now.. why do i NOT use my ALTERNATE number then??? well… that number is also disabled thanks to the “non-verified” address followed by my utter laziness to submit the documents at some local office. Nevermind… laziness is FUNN !!! saves u from a lot of work !!!

On occasions, I’d put myself off the network on weekends to steal a sweet cake of dreamless afternoon sleep but two days is the maximum feasible duration for staying out of the world’s immediate reach. It starts to get boring. Even if chosen to stay disconnected, I can easily change my mind anytime during the weekend, switch the phone on and start annoying any “contact”. Current compulsive disconnection is more like a punishment given to me by elder gamegods for navigating away from routine worship.

Weekend so far was funn though… Began on Friday night with “National Treasure : Book of Secrets” which was an AWSOME movie. Just as fast and interesting as the first one. Fast, Fun, Chase, Fun, Caves and Treasure with Action used as punctuations. I liked the National Treasure Villains in both the movies though. They don’t much believe in intellectual redundancy. Gates does all the thinking and bad guys just grab a hostage and meet him at the treasure entrances. Movie is once again “FUNN!!!” go see it “NOW”!!

Saturday gave good worship points from “DotA” and “World of Warcraft”. It’s a HOLY experience to munch on potato chips along with games. In the cafe, I surprisingly met two of the cafe “alumni” after somewhat like three years. Felt good .

Good thing is… The movie is good. I liked it. Just today, there were some things in the newspapers saying there is something objectional in the movie. Theaters had notices up on the display saying “We have cut the objectional part” which they must have done  cause i did not see anything unusual or objectional in the entire movie. It was nice, good and smooth.

Passion for Dance and Music form the main story of the movie backed up with Love, Fight and Relations… There are good people, there are bad people as well… In the end it all ends well.. thats the story in short. In sense, its a typical story but the way it is put together is nice. Really nice.

Personally, I do not favor songs in Hindi movies. This movie was an exception where every song is well in its place and has a reason for being there. Songs do not get bored as they are energized by Madhuri Dixit (Nene). Even without her, the song coreography still makes sense  and does not look odd.

This movie is on my Must Watch list. Go there, See it, Enjoy it !!!
