It’s been almost two years since I’m writing things on the blog (i guess)… I started it as a learning experience, to get to know what blogging is, how it feels and to learn how people design their blogs. To me, being a web designer-developer, it seemed the right thing to do. So, I did it and felt very good doing it. It was “Fun”. However, since last few months, when I look at my blogging frequency and content, things don’t look right. It’s as if I’ve lost the sheer motivation that drove me to write any blatant stuff on this blog in the first place.

The reason behind this is probably because I wanted to make it better, and didn’t quite realize the correct path to achieve it. It’s every bloggers dream to get more viewers, readers to their blog. To establish a “communicative” relation to the society through their blog in their very own way. I am not an exception. I wanted more viewers, so, I thought I should do some study around it, read some good articles about blogging and try to improve myself a bit. So, I did…

Articles, people around the web and probably everyone else who knows blogging emphasize on content quality. To create quality content, one should actually try to identify the type of content that the blog is supposed to serve. This is where I fell. It was a hands down pants up failure. The blog had(and still has) a lot of random stuff such as cat pictures, images of a couple of computer keyboards, some more cats, my ramblings and mumblings about the movies that I liked or disliked and some of computer, flex and programming stuff as well… But, when I tried to categorize my blog, i just ended up confusing myself terribly. Often happened so, that whenever I thought of posting something on the blog, I restricted myself thinking whether it’d suit the flavor that I want my blog to belong to. Most of the times, the thoughts were ended as discarded drafts.

Now that I think of it, I never really wanted my blog to belong to a particular flavor. I wanted it to reflect a bit of myself from on the web. I wanted it to be a place to store my late night randomness, to dump my offline brainstorms, experiments, parties, fun events etc…. (and to show furry cat pictures). From this moment onwards (actually a few moments before this moment, and a probably a few more moments before ‘this’ particular moment) I have decided to not to restrict myself from posting any(ducking?)thing on the blog.

I want my old fun back !!!

says,

~Nac

Got a mail from Yahoo few days ago regarding Yahoo Briefcase closure. They said they’re closing down the Yahoo Briefcase service so I should get a backup of all my files which are still stored on Yahoo Briefcase before 30th of March, 2009.

I still have files on yahoo briefcase… very very valuable, but only to me… I am not talking about the contents of the file… yes, the files did cost me a lot, but I am not talking about that either. This is a different kind of value, which all of us appreciate. The value which is directly related to the object, the person and the time.. want examples ??? of course… Remember your old jeans? Remember your photos back from school days?? VALUABLE indeed ……

Sweet old memories I have in those uploaded bytes. The days of Gaming, Days of Age of Empires, Half-Life, Diablo II and Counter Strike… The days of my so called college, which I hardly ever bothered to attend… The days when the day used to dawn with the game and set with another… the memories of those addictive days crawl through my mind, unleashing torrents of energies, taking me into a trance, i see ….hoards of paladins raging through fields, rams attacking thick stone walls, Siege weapons hurling stones at distant enemy towers…. Somewhere deep beneath the town, we fight the legions of demons, just so we could reach to the portal which leads us to another realm…. GoGoGo… Strom the Front… Affirmative…….. Killing Spreee…. Double Kill…. Triple Kill…… …..GODLIKE!!! Oh my GOD they’re so many names… WoW, DotA, Ragnarok, Warcraft III, Renegade, Commandos , CnC Generals, Red Alert II, GTA II, GTA Vice City, Quake III Arena, Day of Defeat, Unreal Tournament … The awesomeness…..

I used to upload my savegame files over Yahoo Briefcase often… Just so that I could resume the game back home or in some other cyber cafe… I had plenty of Age of Empire custom maps, downloaded from several websites, stored in my briefcase, so that we wont need to find them again… Very addictive years they were… nothing else really mattered.. bunking college for days, spending those hours in cyber cafes playing multiplayer games with other kids, doing exactly the same with their colleges and their time was all that we used to do. Their real names never mattered, we hardly knew any real names of our fellow gamers… only nicknames like Nightmare, Casino, Shadow Warrior, Samrat, Pappupager, Cracker, A1, Chilli and so on… I still stick to my nickname “JaguarNac”…. I believe it’s something like gamer’s code that you do not ask a fellow gamer his real name until he exposes it by himself… or his parents come to the cafe yelling his name for bunking the college

Fun times indeed.

If you notice, the Month of May has a huge gap between posts. The month was filled with work, work and lot more work. Two projects had deadlines, one product had a scheduled launch date, a website to be completed, preparations for the US-tour, M.Com Examination and Birthday. Everything was packed up in this tiny little month.

It was awsome. It had been long since I actually felt tired and bored of working in front of computer. It finally happened this month. Another unbelievable thing was the M.Com examinations. I could appear for two papers only, one was skipped due to an official meeting and another was skipped merely because it was Accountancy, a definite Zero for me.

Birthday was fun. Turned 22. thats a lot of two’s in there…

It was a good fun and experience while working with PHP, C#, ASP.NET, Flash ActionScript, InnoSetup, Visual Basic 6, Different CD image formats, Flex, CSS, XHTML and JavaScript. I do not want to believe that I know these things. They just happen. I just like to see them happen and prefer to change the way they happen so that the way they happen is the way I want them to happen, which usually is the way in which someone else wants the things to be happened. Weired yet enjoyable phenomenon.

Logix are teh magix !

I’m simply liking stumbling upon various websites, so I’ve decided to dedicate a whole category of my blog for the webs that i’d stumble upon. Visit soon, u might actually find some nice things around

Had an accident today morning I was going to college on my Activa. Crossed the signal near Kothrud Fly-Over and before I knew what was happening, I had hit a rickshaw from behind, was hit sideways on the road and dragged further an inch or so. I landed on my right side, some damage to right knee, right elbow and HUGE damage around right ear. Doctor later said, it got a slight cut which they had to stitch.

On the event spot, I was totally confused about what happened. I left the vehicle lying on the road and rushed myself out of the traffic. Seeing the vehicle lying on the road and blood which started dripping from near my ear, A few passers-by stopped to check what exactly happened. Gathered around asking what happened. I was checking if my head was OK and all, no dizzy feelings etc. I did not know I was bleeding bad until someone from the crowd said, hey man your ear’s bleeding. There was a lot of blood on my arm when I removed it from ear to see the level of bleeding. From the crowd that had gathered up by now, some guy took my vehicle to side, locked and handed the keys to me. A traffic police joined in the event and managed to get the crowd on the move.

I needed something to cover and hold my ear tightly against. I had no hanky in my pockets and the cloth I had in my vehicle was rusty and dusty enough to give me septic on the spots. I asked randomly at the crowd for a hanky. After a couple of tries, some girl from the crowd handed me a nice napkin which proved to be the best help at that time. I held my ear tightly against the napkin and began searching for a ride to get me to nearest hospital. It was simply unpractical to ride my own vehicle with only one arm while other arm stops ear from bleeding.

Morning rush was high, rickshaws were full and somehow, no bike around had free pillion seat… So, I just asked a bicycler from the crowd if he could drop me around the corner. He agreed. So, I hopped on, took a ride to Nal Stop chowk, crossed the road and finally reached the hospital.

I was immediately shifted to Emergency Ward. Wiped clean and later stitched. Hospital part was another experience, I’ll like to write briefly about it later. It was nice.

Overall, I’m glad that it got off with just a stitched ear. Could’ve been much much worse. Further, I’m thankful to all those people who helped me oh the spot. All those anonymous helpers made me glad and strengthened my belief in my ‘everyone is good’ approach to life.

How would you like to live your life? There are many ways. Many options to choose from but most of the time we need to choose only one option and go ahead with life. We can’t do it ALL… there’s not enough time. So, how’d you make your choice ?? how would you go with your life???

If you are a part of immensely huge programming logic, what you would be? A parameterized function with definite returns? Or a function that features a good amount of utility but voids for returns. It’s strange that we don’t come into existance with predefined procedures and logics. We have choice. Inheritance and Implementations are optional upon us to high extent. On ocassions, this entire time intensive system puts forth a dialog full of choices, however it may or may not be very obvious. Some choices can significantly change the state of individual instance while some only manipulate a few properties here and there. Here, in this world, we as an object have a choice to alter or control our instance, make it better or worse. It’s you… your own build.

So, would prefer to be a constructor of yourself? Or would you rather extend a third-party class and all those typical interfaces?? Wuold you like to be invoked as some new CommonlyKnownClass() or new You() sounds much more powerful?

Your choice…
